Pay per click advertising (PPC) is a search engine marketing technique that requires you to pay a fee every time someone clicks to your website from an ad you've placed in a search engine's results. Simply stated, you will "bid" a price per click to be in a specific position of the search rankings for a particular search keyword or keyword phrase. The more you agree to pay per click (or bid) for a specific keyword, the higher your site will rank in the paid search results. The paid search results are usually marked as advertisements or “Sponsored Links” and appear above or beside the search engine’s organic listings. Although your website name or URL will be displayed in the search results at your bid for position, you are not charged the pay-per-click "bid" until a searcher actually clicks on your website URL.

Paid Inclusion services are programs that allow you to pay to get in the organic results. Yahoo has come out with a nice paid inclusion service. It’s called Search Submit and it allows you to pay for your site’s pages to come up in what is known as organic search results. There are several programs including Search Submit Basic and Search Submit Pro. The Basic programs involves submitting up to 5 URLs that will be crawled often by Yahoo's search engine crawlers and if relevant to the search terms there is a better chance of higher rankings in the organic results. The Pro program is for larger companies with higher budgets with sites that contains hundreds to thousands of pages; the Pro program involves a cost per click when users click your listing in the organic results.
